Workplace Chemical Safety Regulations in Ontario

  • It’s time for one course that provides a comprehensive overview of the range of chemical safety regulations affecting businesses and institutions in Ontario – and this is the course! This course explains the requirements of the following regulations and statues (and also the rationale for these requirements): the designated substance regulations (under the OH&S Act); the Regulation respecting Control of Exposure to Biological and Chemical Agents (under the OH&S Act); the chemical safety provisions of the Industrial Establishments Regulation and (where audience needs warrant) the Health Care and Residential Facilities Regulation (under the OH&S Act); as well as chemical safety requirements; chemical waste storage requirements; key provisions of regulated codes for propane storage and handling; on-site (industrial) storage and handling of gasoline and fuels; and key provisions of the Ontario Electrical Code relevant to occupancies containing flammable or combustible materials or potentially explosive environments.
