Joint Health and Safety Committee Part II Certification - Office Environment
Course Description
Participants in this course will gain an understanding of the hazards commonly encountered in office settings.
Specific topics include:
- ergonomics
- indoor air quality
- equipment and workspace issues
- basics of chemical safety
- personal security
This course meets the mandated requirements set out by the Ontario Workplace Safety and Insurance Board’s (WSIB’s) Certification Training Program Standard.
Note: Joint Health and Safety Committee Member Certification is a 2-step process requiring successful completion of Part 1 (Basic) and Part 2 (Workplace-Specific or Sector-Specific Hazard Training). Employers of participants seeking Part 2 Certification are expected to conduct a hazard assessment to determine the "significant hazards" present at their workplace and to train prospective certified member in those hazards. Upon completion of training, participants must submit a completed copy of the Workplace Specific Hazard Training Confirmation Form (#3189A) to WSIB for final certification.
Intended Audience
Future certified members of Joint Health and Safety Committees in Ontario who may encounter office-related hazards.
