Ergonomic Coach Training Session - Industrial Environment
Course Description
Proactive prevention strategies and control of ergonomic risk can help ensure a safe workplace and reduce costs associated with injuries and disabilities. This course is intended to develop an individual’s capacity to act as an ergonomic coach in the workplace. The course develops skills in dealing with a variety of static and dynamic task scenarios associated with common production and maintenance work activities found in the industrial environment. The first half of the course covers relevant basic anatomy and physiology, and scientific evidence on the relationships between person-workplace interfaces and injuries. The second half takes a practical approach to conducting ergonomic assessments and identifying corrective interventions. This course cover observational technique, measurement, posture, force interactions, user communication, and employee control of the workstation and equipment.
